Same Thing, New Week!

Today can be labled as absolutely beautiful for those that are big fans of spring-like weather! Things will begin to change as we head into the second part of our week. Overnight tonight, a low of 45 degrees is expected and will rebound back into the upper 60's by Wednesday afternoon. Expect a mix of sun and clouds during the day paired with a 20% chance of a shower in our area Wednesday evening.

Like we experienced last week, a cold front will move across the south Thursday, bringing storms to our neighboring states to the west. Residents in Georgia should not expect any steady rainfall to move into our area until late Thursday (2/26) afternoon through early Friday (2/17) morning. That being said, colder temperatures will not create chills in our area until Friday, resulting in a Thursday afternoon high temperature much like the first half of the week!

The SPC's 3 Day outlook places parts of North Georgia in a marginal to slight risk for potential severe weather later this week. The Athens area is only under an area expected to see non-severe thunderstorms. However, overnight Thursday, one should only anticipate an occasional rumble of thunder and/or strong gust of wind associated with the line of showers that will roll through all of North GA.

As always, check back in for updates on the chance of severe weather as we get closer to Thursday!
