My Story

Hi! I'm Gabe. Ever since I was a child I have loved all kinds of science, and meteorology was no exception. My interest in the weather was sparked by seeing the effects of the 2008 Atlanta tornado, and that interest led me to countless hours spent reading about the weather in books and online.  I began my college journey at Oglethorpe University majoring in physics before transferring to the University of Georgia and changing majors to applied mathematics. While my major may not be in atmospheric sciences or meteorology, I am deeply passionate about the field and I plan to pursue a PhD in atmospheric sciences after graduating from the University of Georgia. I hope to apply my background in math and physics and my passion for protecting the environment to a career in atmospheric sciences studying polar weather and climate.
