My Story

My name is Hanna Medler, and I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Georgia, graduating in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences. During my time at UGA, I have developed a strong passion for Broadcast Meteorology, especially for communicating life-saving information during severe weather events.

Following graduation, I plan to pursue a certificate through the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Online Climate and Atmospheric Science Program to strengthen my technical and analytical meteorological skills. My goal is to combine this advanced technical training with my passion for communicating weather information to curate my own path in the weather industry, one that blends science, storytelling, and public impact.

In the coming years, I also plan to earn both my AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation and the NWA Seal of Approval. These certifications will further validate my forecasting expertise and commitment to accuracy and excellence in broadcast meteorology.

Ultimately, I aspire to become a trusted voice in weather communication. Helping viewers not only understand the forecast but also feel informed, prepared, and connected to the science behind it.
