Kathryn Clark

Hello! Thank you so much for visiting my page! I am more than honored to be apart of a team that aims to provide a frquently weather-varying region like North Georgia with relable forecasts that will prepare you for any event ahead of time. Below, you can learn some more about me, and if you have any questions, dont hesitate to reach out!

My Story

Growing up, I was always surrounded by weather due to the fact that my former meteorologist dad loved to look at all of the computer models/radar maps and then compare his findings to the NWS forecast discussions he would read aloud. At a young age, I didn't really take much interest in his explaination about why there is always rain ahead of a cold front or what the NWS meteorologists meant by "troughing" or ridging," but as I got older I started realizing how important it is to know the "why" behind so many weather phenomena that affect us everyday. While the study of weather is very intricate and detailed, I am more than grateful that I was able to grow up in an environment that sparked my mesmirization for the atmosphere.

Now I am currently a Sophomore at UGA with the intention of earning a bachelors degree in Atmospheric Sciences. Even as a second year, I can already say that I have learned so much about how  all areas of the atmosphere work together to contribute to the surface weather patterns that we forecast every day. This program has also required to challenge me to think through model interperetations and put myself outside of my comfort zone In the future, I hope to pursue a research position in the climatology field, but we will see where the wind takes me!

In my free time I have recently taken an interest in knitting and trying new coffee shops in Athens!
