My Story

Hello! My name is Miley Spiers and I am from Kingsland, Georgia. I am currently a second-year undergraduate at the University of Georgia and plan to graduate in 2028 with a B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences. 

Growing up on the Georgia coast, I learned how powerful weather could be from a young age. Witnessing hurricanes firsthand sparked more curiosity than fear. I wanted to understand how they worked and how I could help my community be better prepared. This curiosity then turned into a goal: become a broadcast meteorologist to translate science, ease anxiety, and help people make decisions that could save their lives.
