Good Afternoon and thank you for reading today's WeatherDawg's blog post! Yesterday, we discussed the wedge and potential impacts on the weather this Wednesday. Now today, we saw the full action of the wedge in place. This is keeping the whole southeast cool and cloudy with lots of low stratus clouds in place. Stratus clouds being similar to a blanket that keeps the air cold instead of warm. We expect the wedge to remain effective throughout tonight and into the morning hours of tomorrow. The clouds will be hanging around until around tomorrow evening, when they will start to dissipate from the afternoon heating.

For Athens, a low of 63 with generally cloudy conditions to persist overnight and into the morning. Tomorrow, we will stay within the 70s, getting to a high of around 78. The morning and noontime will stay relatively cool with clearing conditions expected during the afternoon hours, giving way to some warmer weather. No rain is expected tonight or tomorrow. This will make for a pleasant autumn day here in Athens.

For North Georgia, the story is much the same with temperatures ranging from lower to upper 70s. The cloud cover will remain, but western areas will see clearer conditions earlier than the eastern portions. Despite the general cloudiness, no precipitation is expected and conditions will begin to turn sunnier as the day progresses. Tomorrow will make for a great autumn day for all of Georgia, so make sure to get out and enjoy this weather while it lasts!
