Blazing into August

Good afternoon Dawg Nation! As we move forward in the dog days of summer and into the next month, the intense and dangerous heat will still linger. Although we are expecting a slight cooldown in temps later in the week, highs for today and tomorrow are expected to near or break 100 all across Georgia, with little relief at night with lows in the mid 70s. Humid conditions are expected across the area all week in addition to the heat, so its important to exercise caution when outdoors to avoid heat-related illnesses. Rain chances are to linger around 30-50% through the week, with more widespread than isolated coverage of storms on Tuesday. Any storms that form have the risk of producing damaging winds, but no severe threat is expected. Have a great week, stay safe from the heat, and Go Dawgs!
