Cool......ish Temperatures Incoming

For our viewers in North Georgia and Athens, we have been experiencing partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the low 90s for the past couple days. However, we are expecting a cold front to move in tomorrow night, which will bring temperatures down to the mid 80s for the rest of the week. As the cold front moves in, we are expecting some pop-up thunderstorms to develop in the evening; however, most of the rain should stay east of North Georgia and Athens.

Tonight’s forecasted low for Athens is around 70, warmer than expected for this time of year due to heavier cloud cover. Temperatures should rebound to the low 90s by tomorrow afternoon, right before the cold front hits. Unlike tonight, clouds will clear out by tomorrow evening, allowing for overnight lows to reach a comfortable point in the mid-60s.

North Georgia has a similar story to Athens over the next couple days: lows in the high 60s and highs in the mid-80s, making for comfortable end-of-summer conditions.

The incoming cold front should linger into the weekend, allowing for comfortable conditions as we head into another gameday weekend. Enjoy these cooler temperatures!
