Fall Feelings and Farewells to the 90 Degree Heat.
Good evening, Athens and North Georgia!
As we head into the last day of astronomical summer, I think many of us are wondering when those fall feelings are finally going to come into play. We felt a very slight relief this evening with our highs in the lower 90s, and the good news is that temperatures will continue to decrease tomorrow and through the rest of the week. Finally, some relief!
Tonight in Athens, we will see a low of 70 degrees with a slight 20% chance of rain. Tomorrow, we will have a high of 89 degrees, with a 60% chance of rain.
The fall feeling will finally start to sneak in on Wednesday, with highs in the upper 70s across the North Georgia region. Even better news? We could even see highs in the mid-70s and lows in the upper 50s by Thursday.
The 90s look to be going away for a while, but we aren't fully out of the "dawg" days of summer quite yet. Due to the current El Niño pattern and the latest seasonal outlook, we are forecast to have a hotter-than-average fall, so don't fully unpack your flannels and Halloween decorations just yet. But be prepared, because we are getting closer and closer every day to those cooler temperatures!
Until next time...and as always, Go Dawgs!
