Winter Enters the Chat

Good Evening Athens and North Georgia! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and got to enjoy some holiday classics with hot chocolate! If winter activities are your thing, then you're in luck!

Today in Athens and Canton, we hit lows of 40 and 31 degrees, with highs of 52 and 54 degrees. With a cold front sweeping over Georgia tonight, we can expect a low of 26 degrees in Athens and 22 degrees in Canton by tomorrow morning. Ahead of the cold front, we have a slight chance of precipitation tonight, with 10% in Athens and 20% in Canton. There is also a slight chance that the precipitation in Canton could take on the form of flurries, so be on the lookout!

Tomorrow we can expect a high of 40 degrees in Athens and 32 degrees in Canton. Northwest winds will be blowing from 10 to 15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph, so make sure to bundle up and bring out those winter jackets!

If cold weather is not your thing, do not fear, because we can expect a brief warm-up after the passage of this cold front, bringing our highs back into the upper 40s and lower 50s on Friday and Saturday. However, looking further into the weekend, we will see another cold front passing through on Saturday. We can expect a slight chance of showers ahead of it on Friday night and possibly into Saturday, and we will be left with colder temperatures on Sunday. Great for those winter lovers out there, but sorry if not!

Enjoy the cozy weather tonight, and go Dawgs!
