Calm after the Storm
Good afternoon Athens and north Georgia. After the bout of severe weather last night, our weather is warming right back up. Even with the cold front that moved through, we are not seeing much of a change to our temperatures and dew points. Looking at tomorrow in Athens, we are expecting the low to be around 70 degrees in the morning, with the temperatures jumping during the day to around 93 degrees. Good afternoon Athens and North Georgia We are currently under a heat advisory as the combination of hot temperatures and high dew points have brought our heat index to around 106. More Heat and Humidity Ahead
Good afternoon, Athens and North Georgia! The high heat, humidity, and associated afternoon scattered showers pattern that has been ongoing across our area the past few days looks to persist in the near term. This is largely thanks to a very persistent pattern of high pressure stationed overhead that has been slow to move out over the past week.
