My Story

For the first 20 years of my life, I lived in Oswego, Illinois with my three siblings and parents. My mom and I used to watch WGN9 News before I went to school, and my favorite segments were always the local weather updates. As I grew older, my mom and I used to spend time watching severe weather roll through from the sanctuary of our garage (I do not advise this for tornadoes).  When I was 13 years old, my mom passed, and naturally I was really torn up about it. As time went on, I started noticing my mom in the clouds, specifically when it would storm. From then on, I have had a love and appreciation for weather, and whenever I feel like I need guidance, my mom likes to drop some rain on me to remind me that I'm moving in the right direction.

After high school, I graduated from Waubonsee Community College with an associate's degree with a concentration in Geography. I moved to Georgia in 2023, with the intention of transferring into UGA and pursing a degree in Atmospheric Science. I went in anticipating doing broadcast meteorology, but as I have learned more here, I have gained an appreciation for climate studies/climate solutions. Being part of the WeatherDawgs has given me an opportunity to learn and grow in meteorology, and I hope to someday make an impact on the lives of the people around me, whether that be in forecasting severe weather, or working towards solutions to climate change. Anticipated Graduation, May 2027.
