A Rainy Start to Spring

Good evening, Athens Georgia! We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful spring day because the chance for rain is upon us again and will linger for the next few days. If you thought the severe thunderstorm that washed some of the pollen away on campus yesterday was the end, I must inform you it is only the beginning. For the next few days, the United States will be under widespread enhanced severe thunderstorm risks. Fortunately for us in Athens, our risk is low and nothing severe will affect us until the weekend; however, it is important to still take note of as storms draw near, especially in Northern Georgia. The forecasted impact of these events in Athens could be seen on Saturday or Sunday, and it will take the form of lots of precipitation.

But before the rain reaches Athens, we stay warm and muggy. Tonight in Athens the winds will calm out, and some fog will be moving in overnight, leaving us a 10% chance of rain. Temperatures will reach a low of 58 degrees. As we look toward tomorrow, Athens will be warming up and reaching a high of 80. There is a 20% chance of scattered showers, but nothing will linger for long. But check back in with us for more details as to what the rain could look like this weekend!

Thanks for reading and Go Dawgs!
