Athens Without Rain

Hanna Medler

Good afternoon, Dawgs! Fall in Athens has proven to be nothing short of beautiful! The east coast of the United States has maintained a constant high-pressure system, which in turn has kept Athens clear of active weather. It's unusual to see and worth noting Athens went nearly an entire month without rain, receiving just 0.01 inches over the weekend. There were also some isolated showers across North Georgia over the weekend, the first seen in weeks. This pattern is expected to continue throughout the weekend, with the first sign of rain not likely until late next week. So, if you plan on trick or treating on Halloween, or tailgating for the game on Saturday in Athens, you can be reassured of a clear forecast!

Turning our attention to the short-term forecast, Athens had a gorgeous day! The sun was out, and the sky was mostly clear. As we move into tonight, temperatures will drop to about 58 We will also have some low-level clouds moving in. All of North Georgia can expect a foggy drive to work in the morning. Those clouds will eventually lift and make way for another warm day, with temperatures reaching a high of 78 here in Athens.

Thanks for reading, and Go Dawgs!
