For our viewers in North Georgia and Athens, we had a nice break from the rain this weekend.... until Mother Nature brewed up heavy thunderstorms Sunday afternoon. These heavy thunderstorms brought wind gusts to the area that felled trees. Luckily, high pressure will be moving into the area in the following days, clearing out the skies and causing temperatures to gradually warm up throughout the week.
For Athens, as we go into the overnight hours, we expect clear conditions where temperatures will be dipping down into the mid 60's. For tomorrow, the conditions will stay consistent with clear skies and a breeze with the high temperature will peak up to 90.
For North Georgia, we expect to see the same conditions. mas we head into the overnight hours, clear conditions will be present with the low expected into the mid 60's. For tomorrow, clear conditions will still be present along with a breeze and the high will be in the mid to upper 80's.
For the week ahead, we'll see clear conditions and hot temperatures for the next few days while a chance for pop-up thunderstorms will occur starting on Thursday. Make sure to wear some sunscreen and to stay hydrated if you are outside!
