Clouds Stay, More Rain!

Georgia Hernandez

Good afternoon Athens and North Georgia readers! After a month with practically no rain we are getting our fill of cloudy skies and rain chances during the first few days of November. These more gloomy days are expected to stick around for the near future, with our chances of rain increasing due to an incoming front. Temperatures, however, are still sitting above average for this time of year!

Looking closer into Athens, temperatures are not expected to cool off all that much. The low for Athens overnight will be 65ºF, clouds covering the stars keeping the temperatures from falling. A rain chance of 20% is expected to accompany our low overnight, so keep that in mind for early morning hours. Moving into tomorrow, the high for our area will be 73ºF, with a bit higher chance of rain at 40%. The higher chance of rain doesn't mean it will be any more intense, but will rather stay as a light drizzle throughout the day.

Viewing North Georgia as a whole, the conditions will stay pretty similar to Athens. The lows overnight will also stay in the lower end of the 60s, and the rain chances will be slightly lower. Clouds are expected to break up a bit more in the northern parts of Georgia lowering both the temperatures and rain chances. Looking at tomorrow, those highs will again stay close to Athens in the mid to low 70s and rain chances staying on the lower end.

As we look towards the next few days, the front pushing towards us will increase the cloud cover and rain chances. As always, keep checking back the WeatherDawgs for more updates as the week moves forward.

Thanks so much for reading, and Go Dawgs!
