Does it have to let it linger?

For our viewers in North Georgia and Athens, we were introduced with cloudy skies and light rain last night that was pushed in from a low pressure system dwelling in the Gulf of Mexico. This rush of moisture from the southeast brought on the dreary skies and cooler temperatures we are seeing today, and these conditions will fairly persist until Thursday afternoon.

For both Athens and North Georgia, lingering clouds will keep us slightly warmer this evening than last night. We expect our low to dip down to 50 degrees with a 20% chance of light rain in Athens and 10% chance of rain in North Georgia.

Although the clouds may persist, temperatures will gradually increase throughout the day tomorrow. We expect our high to reach into the upper 60s and any chances of rain will be little to nothing.

Looking further into the week, we expect conditions to lighten up and clear skies to return as a high pressure system moves over the southeast which will set us up for a beautiful weekend and pleasant Saturday for the dawgs.
