Embracing the Cold

fm54002

Good afternoon!

We had quite a cold start to the week as temperatures dipped below freezing last night with gusts continuing to persist into the day. Today, we reached a high in the 50s with windy conditions and clear skies. However, no need to fret as there is good news ahead! We will be entering a period of high pressure that will cause temperatures to bounce back into the 70s the next few days. So please, get out there and enjoy the comfortable conditions!

For tonight, Athens is forecasted to reach a low in the mid 30s, remaining on the cold side with generally clear conditions and gusts approaching 15 mph or higher. Tomorrow's high is expected to reach the 70s with sunny skies and gusty conditions variable throughout the day.

For North Georgia, tonight's forecasted low is expected to be slightly colder, dropping into the low 30s, likely to approach freezing. There is a frost advisory in place for this region, so please take the necessary steps to protect temperature sensitive plants and watch out for frost during your morning commute. Tomorrow, the high is expected to stay in the higher 60s, with mostly clear skies and gusts remaining variable. Remember to pack a light jacket!

Please stay tuned for daily updates and as always…GO DAWGS!!!
