Feel the Heat

Good afternoon Dawg Nation! The first full week of summer looks to be a sweltering one for sure, with highs today and tomorrow nearing 100 degrees, with heat indices expected to break the 100-degree threshold over the next four days due to minimal cloud cover and humid conditions. Afternoon rain and storms are expected to return to the area later in the week starting on Wednesday, but it will do little to alleviate the heat; highs are expected to be above 90 for the entire week. Due to the lingering heat all week, it is important to stay cool to avoid heat exhaustion, which can lead into heat stroke, which can be dangerous. Wear lightweight clothing, take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water, and try to plan activities early in the day or evening when the temperature is cooler. Even in the early morning or evening, its important to take these precautions, as the higher humidity during these hours can still create uncomfortable conditions outside and be of concern to anyone doing intensive activities. Have a good week, stay safe from the heat, and Go Dawgs!
