Groundhog Day Brings Winter and Rain

Happy Monday, Athens and North Georgia! Today is Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil has declared for six more weeks of winter following our snowy weekend.

Tonight will be chilly, with the low dropping to 27 degrees and falling below freezing. However, temperatures across North Georgia are going to rebound tomorrow, and we will see a high of 54 in Athens.

Looking ahead, rain is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday, along with increasing cloud cover as the next system moves through.
