Humid and Drizzly, but Fall is Returning Soon!

What's going on Dawg Nation?!

It's been a bit of a dreary start to the week here in Athens. Today has been much like yesterday; cloudy and overcast with occasional drizzly rain showers. The only difference is that today is about 5 degrees warmer, and it is far more humid! Dew points have shot up into the 70s this afternoon, making a walk outside feel slightly oppressive.

This humid warming trend will be very short lived, however, but will last through the day tomorrow. Tonight, we'll see temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s, and we'll get up to around 80 here in the Athens area, remaining humid throughout. Similarly to today we'll have to watch out for the occasional passing shower. These will be light in nature, but it will be something to watch out for as you go through your day tomorrow.

Anybody still waiting for fall conditions won't have to wait too much longer! A relatively strong cold front is expected to push through the state on Wednesday, bringing with it drier and cooler conditions. High temperatures are expected to be around the mid-80s on Wednesday, but by Thursday they drop down to the low-to-mid 70s! More October-like weather is on the way!

Go Dawgs!
