I Can See Clearly Now, The Rain is Gone!

Good afternoon, Dawg Nation!

I'm sure most of you heard some rumbles of thunder today as a strong line of thunderstorms pushed through the area. We had multiple tornado warnings in the squall line just to the south of Atlanta, and numerous severe thunderstorm warnings across the state. Fortunately for us here in North Georgia, the threat for severe weather has now passed, and though there may be some lingering showers this evening, we should be clearing up as we go through the night, giving way to beautiful sunny skies and warm temperatures tomorrow.

We should see a pretty sharp cool down from the 60s we saw this morning with the passage of a cold front, as temperatures will begin tomorrow morning in the mid-to-upper 40s. Things will warm up quite nicely though as temperatures will rise up into the mid-to-upper 70s, with Athens topping out between 76 and 78 degrees. There shouldn't be a cloud in the sky, and it will be a great day to be out in the sun.

As we look to the rest of the week, we should stay sunny through Tuesday, before clouds and chances for rain return once again on Wednesday. Scattered showers are set to pelt the area, but these will remain sub-severe and shouldn't pose any risk. Pushing past Wednesday, we are looking at a sharp warm up, with high temperatures pushing up into the 80s! It's going to be a hot end to the week.

Thanks for reading, and Go Dawgs!
