Lingering Cold

Good evening Athens and North Georgia! I hope you all stayed safe this weekend, and didn't accumulate too much ice on your cars!

This morning we hit a low of 12 degrees in Athens and 10 degrees in Canton - talk about cold! We can expect a bit of a warm up by tomorrow morning, with lows of 24 and 22 degrees for Athens and Canton, respectively.

Today, we hit a high of 39 degrees in Athens, and 35 degrees in Canton. Although we hit highs above freezing, our wind chill temperatures throughout the day were close to, and if not colder than, freezing! Unfortunately, since we still remain cold tonight, we have some stubborn ice lingering. So as always, use caution when participating in outdoor activities. Tomorrow, we expect to be warmer, with highs of 44 and 41 degrees in Athens and Canton.

We will be mostly sunny tomorrow with dry air, so I suggest you all get outside and enjoy the brief warm up! I emphasize brief, because looking toward the weekend, there's an exciting, but small chance that we might see some snow on Friday night! However, regardless of the snow, it is going to be a very chilly weekend, so enjoy the 40s while you can!

Enjoy the winter weather and go Dawgs!
