Good evening Athens!

Today in Athens we hit a high temperature of 88 degrees and we are expecting a decent cool down overnight which will drop us comfortably into the upper 60's. You can expect temperatures to be a little bit warmer tomorrow with high temperatures likely reaching 90 degrees. With regard to precipitation, there is not much potential for rain overnight, there is a slight chance of pop up showers tomorrow afternoon. Likelihood of precipitation will steadily increasing through the week.

As of right now we are still impacted by the same high pressure that has been over us for quite a while. Despite this you may have noticed more clouds popping up recently thanks to air mass modification; the longer that high pressure sits over us, the more it will begin to adjust to our "normal" warmer temperatures and a bit more moisture. We are watching a low pressure system coming in in the next few days that will move the high pressure system away from us, and along with it some more organized thunderstorms.

Be sure to stay updated on the conditions later this week and leading into our first night game of the season in Sanford Stadium this Saturday!

Have a great night, and go Dawgs!
