Stormy Weekend Ahead

Good evening Bulldogs, today's weather was pleasant with our high temp reaching 79 and clear skies across the region, but that will change into tomorrow with clouds anticipated throughout the day which may impact Lunar eclipse viewing later into the night. A stray shower can't be ruled out tomorrow for Western Georgia but we aren't expecting much for the Athens area. Our low tonight will be in the upper 40's and high tomorrow in the mid 70s. Overall a calm few days ahead, before the busy weekend.

Looking ahead into the weekend, confidence is increasing for a potent severe weather event Saturday night into Sunday morning. As such, the SPC has released a slight/enhanced risk of severe weather across Georgia during that time-frame. While there are uncertainties with the extent of the impacts, tornadoes, flooding, and strong winds are possible. Stay tuned for future updates about this event.
