Storms Clear the Cold is Here

Happy Monday Athens and North Georgia, and a rainy welcome back from Spring Break. Much of North Georgia experienced severe weather late last night into the early hours of this morning as a strong cold front moved through the region.

In the wake of that front, much colder air is moving into the area tonight and into tomorrow morning. The low in Athens tonight will be 27°F. There is a wind advisory and freeze warning for most of North Georgia. Canton is expected to see 24°F tonight.

With temperatures falling below freezing, remember the four P's: People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants. Take precautions tonight to protect anything sensitive to the cold.

Despite sunshine returning tomorrow, temperatures will remain on the chilly side. Afternoon high in Athens tomorrow will reach around 48°F, while Canton will only reach aroun 43°F. It will certainly be a cold St. Patrick's Day across North Georgia.
