Its been a rainy week for most of north Georgia, but there is light at the end of the tunnel folks. With highs reaching into mid to upper 80s with high humidity, it has been an uncomfortable week. We are expecting a high of 86 with dewpoints in the 70s today as our final round of scattered showers makes its way through Georgia by early morning Friday. Dewpoints are expected to drop as we clear up tonight and into Friday. No severe weather is expected.

This sets the stage for a clear start to the weekend with lower humidity as temperatures soar into the 90s for most of north Georgia. As a trade off to the warm temperatures during the day, the nights will be modest with lows into the upper 60s for most of North Georgia Thursday night. But as we peak close to 90 degrees on Friday, our lows at night will drop all the way into the high 50s and low 60s with no rain expected. Forecast model guidance indicates these high temperatures to return in the later part of next week. Summer has officially arrived.
