Summer Just Wont Give Up!

Good afternoon, North Georgia! Today we saw the beginning of a new, yet normal trend for Georgia typical for this time of year. That's right, the hot temperatures are back! After a pleasant pattern last week with very comfortable temperatures sitting in the mid-80s, and morning temperatures feeling more like fall, we saw temperatures returning back into the low 90s today with clear skies and nothing but sunshine and a desperate need for sunglasses.

The influence of a high pressure system swimming around in the Appalachian Mountains is keeping our weather here in Georgia very dry, so the humidity will not be too overbearing over the next few days. Tomorrow we'll see temperatures hanging around the mid-90s with, once again, clear and sunny skies! Overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s, keeping with the recent trend of unusually comfortable morning temperatures for Georgia in August.

Looking ahead to the weekend, we'll see a possible return of rain chances caused by an increase of of moisture in the area. High temperatures should trend back to the lower 90s by the end of the work week and into the weekend.  We'll keep an extra close eye on the tailgating forecast for this weekend, as this Saturday is the official start of college football, including the Dawgs kicking off against Clemson in Atlanta!
