Warm Cold Front

Good afternoon Athens and North Georgia

We are currently under a heat advisory as the combination of hot temperatures and high dew points have brought our heat index to around 106. Stay safe and if you go outside, bring water and be sure to prepare for the heat. This advisory lasts until around 8 pm tonight.

Now looking forward to tomorrow, we are expecting a cold front to move in overnight, but don't get too excited. There could be some rain overnight with the front, but overall, the temperatures look to remain high in the mid to lower 90s. The highs for Athens are expected to reach around 95 degrees while Canton is looking to be around 93 degrees. The lows overnight in Athens are expected to be 75 with Canton a degree lower at 74.

Even with the front, still prepare for warm days ahead especially if you plan to go outside for any extended period of time. Have a great rest of the week and stay cool!
