Consistency is Key

Happy Thursday, Athens and North Georgia!

I hope you all have been enjoying this amazing weather we have been having. And if you haven't been able to enjoy it, you will certainly have time to soak up some sun this weekend.

Our highs and lows are going to sound pretty similar to the ones we have had over the past couple days. For lows, we are expecting both Athens and Canton to get down to a low of 45° tonight. Tomorrow, we will see highs of 80° for Athens and 78° for Canton. We will be watching our highs creeping up over the weekend, with the possibility of us seeing 90° weather by Wednesday of next week.

While being outside recently has felt great, this persistent weather is starting to cause detrimental effects to go from bad to worse. The entirety of Georgia is currently experiencing some form of drought, with a large chunk of South Georgia under an "Exceptional Drought" condition. It's estimated that around 9.6 million Georgians are in areas that are affected by drought. And with no rain expected for at least the next week, this situation is only bound to get worse.

Despite all of that, I hope you all still have a fantastic weekend and Go Dawgs!
