Fall In Full Swing

Happy Thursday, Athens and North Georgia! We hope you've had a great week.

Here in Athens, we'll end our week with a low of 44 tonight. Tomorrow we'll be a bit cooler than today, with a high of 73. It'll be clear and sunny with low winds.

Canton is pretty much the same story. We'll see a 41 tonight and a 71 tomorrow. Again, clear skies and sunny!

Friday and Saturday are your days to get in your fall activities, as we'll see highs in the low 70s and high 60s. Sunday will be rainy as a low-pressure system moves toward Georgia. The only expected impact from the system is rain here in North Georgia, possibly through Wednesday. This rain may help alleviate some of the drought conditions, but it can also pose a flash flood risk, especially because our soil is dry. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the Southeast in a Marginal Risk for Excessive Rainfall for Monday, meaning there is at least a 5% chance that the risk of rainfall exceeds the flash flood requirements.

Enjoy those sunny skies while they last, but encourage the rain! We need it!

Have a good weekend and GO DAWGS!
