Heat Surge: Above Average Temperatures

fm54002

Good afternoon!

For our viewers in North Georgia and Athens, hope you are staying comfortable and enjoying these above average spring temperatures because these conditions will stay consistent until a cold front pushes through over the weekend, bringing a chance of scattered showers.

As for tonight, Athens will be dropping into the low 60s with mostly cloudy skies. There is a very slight 20% chance of showers overnight, likely to not effect the Athens region but just remain weather aware in case there are a few passing showers. Tomorrow's high will likely reach a scathing 88 degrees with mostly sunny skies and light winds.

In North Georgia, the overnight temperature will drop into the low 60s with cloudy skies. The region will have a slightly higher chance of scattered showers overnight, around a 30%. This could impact your morning commute, so be aware and carry a light rain jacket. The high will be lower than Athens, reaching a high in the mid 80s with winds remaining variable.

Beware the heat risks tomorrow, remember to stay hydrated and even cool off with a quick dip in the pool. Also, the seasonal allergies are beginning to taper off, but will remain relatively effective, so please take care. Enjoy the warm weather and beautiful skies. GO DAWGS!!!
