Hot dry air takeover

Happy Monday Athens and North Georgia!

The warm summer-like weather conditions are here to stay as we have no signs of relief anytime soon. Although this is is a great day (and week) to soak up the sun and get that tan on, we must be aware of the extended drought and red flags warning issued by the National Weather Service. High fire danger conditions are expected to stick around for Athens and most of northern Georgia through the foreseeable future because of the low relative humidities.

On a temperature note, Athens is expected to reach a low of 57 tonight and reach a high of 85 tomorrow afternoon. Canton is expected to reach a low of 54 tonight and reach a high of 82 tomorrow afternoon. As for the rest of week temperature outlook, the mid to high 80s will stick around for highs while the lows will remain in the mid to low 50's -- for both regions.

No precipitation is forecasted for the foreseeable future, so make sure to stay hydrated and keep cool!
