Lyrics of Light in the Tortured Weather Department

Dear Reader,

Last weekend, we received some midnight rain in our area, but this disturbance swiftly departed from our area. A cold front passed through the region making Sunday feel like we were Back to December. This all left a glow off the pavement as you walked through the other side of the door to your classes Monday morning.

Today has been a gorgeous day in Athens, with a high temperature of 64 degrees and clear skies. We will not be saying goodbye goodbye goodbye to the clear skies, as a high pressure system and cold front leaves us in a state of grace. You might want to grab that Cardigan, from under your bed.

In Northwestern Georgia, we can expect more of the same as summer temperatures went away from earlier last week, but still the yearning for these hot days stay. Temperatures will be generally in the 70's, but will be colder and colder as the sun goes down with lows in the 50's.

Overall, this will be a nice week, but look for increasing cloud coverage and chances of rain as we head into the late weekend and early next week, something we know all too well.

Signed,

The Tortured Weather Department
