Muggy on the Horizon

Good afternoon Athens and North Georgia!
I hope you all have been enjoying the reprieve from stiflingly humid conditions over the past couple of days. I unfortunately have to report that this dry spell will be coming to a close. Overnight and into tomorrow, we will see the winds start to kick back up and shift to be coming from the Southwest. These winds will help transport moisture from the Gulf into Northern Georgia, bringing up our humidity with it.
This increased humidity will bring back those muggy conditions that we are used to in the summer, along with the possibilities of stray showers all weekend. Tomorrow we are giving a 30% of showers for both Athens and Canton, so make sure to bring those umbrellas with you, just in case.
Looking to tonight, we will see lows drop down to 70° in Athens and 69° in Canton. Highs tomorrow will sit around the mid-80s, with Athens at 86° and Canton just slightly cooler at 84°.
I hope you all have a great rest of your day and Go Dawgs!
Paul Lagerbloom
