Still Humid, but Cooler!

What's going on Dawg Nation! Some extra cloud cover today kept northeast Georgia cooler than average today by about 5-6 degrees, we topped out in the mid 80s this afternoon here in Athens this afternoon. Though we've had a slight reprieve from the high heat for today, the humidity has not wavered, as we have still seen dew points in the low-to-mid 70s, leaving a very uncomfortable feeling walking around outside for any amount of time. Lots of the metro-Atlanta area has seen some scattered thunderstorms which have helped to cool us off slightly.

The WeatherDawgs expect to see humidities continue to stay high through the next few days, and as for tomorrow's forecast, we're expecting a slight rebound of our high temperatures, but highs are expected to reach the upper 80s, which would remain slightly below average for the middle August, but still rather hot! Low temperatures will continue to remain in the lower 70s.

Hurricane Erin continues to churn its way through the Atlantic Ocean, and forecasts from the National Hurricane Center confidently track the storm off and away from the mainland US, and we here in north Georgia don't expect to see any impacts from Erin. High surf conditions and dangerous rip currents are expected along most of the east coast, however.

Have a great day and go Dawgs!
