Thursday Thunderstorms

Good evening Athens!

As we make our way into Thursday night we can see that a line of showers and storms are traveling north east through Georgia with several scattered thunderstorms all throughout the south east region. This precipitation will persist throughout the evening hours bringing temperatures down into the high 60s/low 70s overnight.  These conditions should be expected for the next couple of days as the cold front moves through.

Friday looks to continue this dreary, muggy trend of scattered showers into the early morning hours which should transition into overcast skies for the remainder of the day. With no sun peeking through the sky, we should expect to see highs in the low 80s tomorrow followed by evening lows in the mid 60s.

Our gameday forecast appears to have the potential for some showers/thunderstorms to pop up throughout the early hours into the afternoon, but hoping that the trends hold, we should be set and ready for a cool, clear kickoff against Bama at 7:30pm with some scattered clouds. This nicer weather will go into Sunday giving us a break from the rain for a little while, and we should expect to have a sunny day with a high in the low 80s.

While it may be a soggy view out your window for the next couple of days, dryer and cooler weather is coming next week as a cold front approaches. We should expect to have mostly sunny weather with temps dipping into the mid 70s as highs for each day.

Enjoy your weekend and go dawgs.
