Warmer Days Ushering in Spring

Happy Wednesday, Dawgs!

Today, March 18th, we saw slightly warmer temperatures compared to the past couple days, with a high of 52 degrees here in Athens, and temperatures throughout most of North Georgia looking about the same. The skies have stayed clear for us as well, paving the way for many folks to get outside and enjoy the day.

Looking forward to tonight, we expect to drop back down into the low 30s throughout most of North Georgia, with our forecasted low here in Athens sitting at 33 degrees. Skies should remain clear overnight, causing the temperature to drop down pretty drastically. Keep an eye out for frost and some small ice patches if you are out early tomorrow morning.

Moving into tomorrow proper, we should expect more enjoyable conditions to persist, with minimal clouds and some gentle breezes resulting in a high temperature of around 67 degrees here in Athens, sitting right around our climatological average for March 19th. No real chance for rain exists tomorrow, and this will continue over the next several days.

Beyond tomorrow, we should expect the warming trend to continue into this weekend. Friday is the Spring Equinox, and we are expecting to see a high of 73 degrees, which is a wonderful way to start spring! Saturday and Sunday we expect to see temperatures jump up into the 80s, so take some time and enjoy the clear weather while we have it.
