A Beautiful Start to Spring!

We had a bit of a gloomy Monday across North Georgia, beginning our morning with scattered showers, and then seeing lingering clouds and temperatures in the mid 60s through the afternoon. Thankfully, much more pleasant conditions are in store: we will experience sunshine and warming tempeatures for our first full week of spring.
Overnight, clouds will move out of the Athens area, leaving our low in the mid 40s. Clear skies will continue into the day tomorrow, bringing much warmer temperatures than we felt today: back to the upper 70s.
The broader North Georgia region can expect similar conditions over the next 24 hours. Clearing skies overnight will allow temperatures to cool more than they did last night, seeing lows in the low 40s. Tomorrow, highs will return to the mid 70s, along with sunshine.
Temperatures will continue to sit in the mid to upper 70s through midweek, accompanied by persistent sunshine. While these conditions will make for a great opportunity to enjoy time outside, beware of rising pollen counts! Pollen counts are currently the highest they have been all year, and will likely rise through the week as we stay dry. Take your allergy medicines before going outdoors, and you'll be all set to enjoy otherwise beautiful weather!
Skies will remain clear until the weekend, when rain chances return. The Storm Prediction Center has currently highlighted northwest Georgia, including the Atlanta Metro area, in a 15% Risk for Severe Weather on Sunday. While it is still too far out to determine specifics regarding this event, the WeatherDawgs will continue to closely monitor any potential associated severe hazards. We will provide updates through the week!
In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful weather, and as always, Go Dawgs!
