A Reprieve From Winter

Welcome back, Bulldogs! We hope everyone enjoyed their day off school and had an opportunity to play in the snow! At the Athens Airport, 1.4" of snow were recorded, making it the first significant snowfall here in Athens since ~1" fell in January 2022. After the wintry weekend, today has marked a considerable shift in temperatures and the weather, with Athens being sunny and recording a slightly unseasonably warm high of 57 degrees about 2 hours ago! This has been a nice change of pace after being very cold for the last week or so. Tonight looks to be still fairly frigid with temperatures expected to drop right around the freezing mark of 32 degrees.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, high temperatures are forecasted to be right around the average this time of year in the low-50's and similar conditions due to a weak cold front ushering in a high pressure system. We'll stay dry and mostly cloudless throughout the day, with some clouds potentially rolling in around sunset. Enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasts, as there are signs we may get bitterly cold again in the coming weeks!
