Cool and Dry Weekend Ahead

Emily Cranston

Good afternoon, Athens! A cold front moved across northwest Georgia today, clearing out lingering rain from Wednesday evening and helping push temperatures to near-normal November levels. By tonight, that cold front will clear the skies, leaving us with a cool and dry evening across our region.

Tonight, expect dry conditions but with some light fog possible, which could affect visibility on the roads, especially in lower-lying areas. If you’re driving late, be extra cautious and prepared for visibility changes. Temperatures will dip to the low 40s, so anyone heading out tonight will want to layer up to stay warm.

Tomorrow morning will start chilly in the low 40s, so jackets will be a must if you’re heading out early for school or work. By midday, we’ll warm into the upper 50s under sunny skies, providing comfortable afternoon weather. As evening approaches, temperatures will drop back into the 40s, so if you have plans for Friday night, make sure to grab a warm layer on your way out the door.

Looking ahead to the weekend, high pressure will continue to bring clear skies and sunshine across northern Georgia, setting us up for a pleasant fall weekend. With temperatures dipping into the 40s on Saturday evening, fans attending the GA vs. TN game will want to bundle up as temperatures will feel cool once the sun sets.

Enjoy this taste of autumn and GO DAWGS!
