Enjoy the Nice Weather While It Lasts!

Good evening Athens and good evening Dawg Nation!

It's been another nice day today as, like I'm sure you are, we here at the Weather Dawgs are continuing to enjoy our break from the heat and our little taste of fall. Earlier this week, we had a cold front come through and after that a persistent high pressure system has been keeping us nice and sunny and dry. Highs have been several degrees cooler than typical for this time of year, and our overnight lows have been nearly ten degrees colder than usual!

Today has been more of the same here in Athens. We got up to about 82 degrees today, with a few more clouds than we have had the last few days. Tonight is expected to be another mild night, with a low of 60 and clouds throughout most of the night before clearing out in the early morning hours. Tomorrow, we are anticipating temperatures to be a little warmer than most of this week with a high of 85 and a few clouds increasing throughout the day.

The bad news I have to bring is that our beautiful weather is coming to an end for the time being. Rain is reentering the forecast Friday night and is expected to persist on and off through Labor Day weekend. This does means Saturday will be a bit wetter for our first game day of the season than we had been hoping, but a bit of rain never stopped Dawg Nation! Temperatures for Saturday and Sunday are expected to get into the low 80s, and this is what we would expect for game time. Looking forward to Labor Day on Monday, it is also unfortunately looking like we'll be having some scattered showers and thunderstorms, but temperatures will stay mild through early next week.

Have a great long weekend and Go Dawgs!
