Good evening, Athens! We were treated to a lovely day today, courtesy of dominant high pressure allowing our airmass to warm quite noticeably (and cool pretty easily, too — our overnight lows are a testament to that). That should remain the norm going into tomorrow, although we might have to contend with a shower or two on Thursday. Going into tonight, the low in Athens is expected to dip to near (or just below) 40 once again, with clear and generally calm conditions. This clear and calm will yield a considerable warm-up tomorrow, with the high expected peak in the upper-70s. The same is expected region-wide. Although it was a bit breezier just to the north and west of Athens, those winds should calm as we head into the evening. Again, this clear and calm should allow the temperature to fall precipitously into the upper-30s and rise quickly into the mid-70s tomorrow afternoon. Breezes should also be weaker tomorrow (if present at all), so there is little to nothing in terms of sensible weather other than incredible temperatures.
In general, make sure to go outside and enjoy this beautiful weather tomorrow! Check back tomorrow for potential light rain on Thursday, but we should be in for a great week overall. Temperatures should remain warmer, although a bit milder, going into the weekend.
For those UGA students out there: three more days til' Spring Break! Stay safe, beat midterms, and Go Dawgs!!!
Also of note: Beat Florida! It's our only hope to make March Madness... but Go Dawgs, nevertheless!
