After several days of gray skies and steady drizzle, North Georgia is finally catching a break. Clouds will begin clearing out tonight, setting the stage for a much brighter end to the last week of October!

By tonight, skies will turn mostly clear, allowing temperatures to drop quickly. Expect overnight lows in the low 40s for Athens and upper 30s in some surrounding areas. It will be a crisp, calm Halloween-eve!

Halloween morning will start off with some lingering cloudy and cool temperatures, but drier air will move in from the northwest clearing the skies leaving us with a clear day pefect to enjoy outdoors! But don't forget your jacket! With that cool northwest breeze still in place, highs will stay below normal, around the low 60s in Athens and low 60s across the higher elevations of North Georgia. Trick-or-treaters can expect no rain (Thank goodness)! But chilly temperatures, dipping into the 40s by early evening, so plan on layering up!

The weekend ahead looks fantastic, with plenty of sun and mild afternoons, perfect for any outdoor plans around Athens or campus.

Enjoy the improving weather, have a great Halloween, and as always, Go Dawgs!
