I See Sunny Skies

For our viewers here in North Georgia and Athens, we have definitely missed the sunshine as repeated rounds of rain has caused some concerns for flooding along with many cancelled plans. But the good news is that Mr. Sunshine is returning to clear those gloomy skies when a high pressure moves in from the west and sits over the area for the weekend. As we go into the overnight hours for Athens, we expect cloudy conditions through the evening but will have some partial clear late and the low's will dip down into the mid 60's. For tomorrow, we expect to see mostly cloudy conditions in the morning but will give way to partly cloudy conditions in the afternoon, with the high going up into the low to mid 80's.

For North Georgia, we expect to see the same conditions. As we go into the overnight hours, we expect cloudy conditions in the evening followed by a partial clearing late and the low tonight will go into the low 60's. For tomorrow, we expect cloudy conditions in the morning followed by partly cloudy conditions in the afternoon, with the high going into the low 80's

As we look ahead to the weekend, we expect for the high pressure to sit in the area, clearing out the skies to make for a beautiful weekend albeit with some toasty temperatures heading into the high 80's to low 90's with some humidity. Our next rain chance is on Monday, but will be nowhere close to what conditions persisted this past week. Stay hydrated and have a wonderful weekend!
