Possible Severe Weather Threat Tonight

Due to the low pressure system circling the Mississippi/Alabama area, we could see a potential threat for severe weather into the overnight hours. The main threat will mostly be be confined to central Georgia, as there is currently a tornado watch in effect until 7pm this evening.

With regards to North Georgia and the Athens area, the larger severe weather threat should be gone as the night progresses, but don't rule out the chance for an isolated thunderstorm as continual bands of rain are expected to hit our area.

Overall, those rain chances will be expected off and on throughout tomorrow as the low pressure system tries to make it's way through Georgia. The good news is the severe weather threat will be greatly diminished by morning.
