Rainy Day Bliss

Keira Shively

Good Evening, Athens and North Georgia! After finally receiving our first bit of rain since September, we can expect to stay rather wet these next coming days leading into the weekend.

Athens is currently sitting at 71 degrees, with humidity reaching close to 90%. Tonight, we expect the skies to stay mostly cloudy, with the low reaching 65. Conditions are expected to stay rather muggy in these next coming days, which was desperately needed after our almost month-long dry spell. Moving into tomorrow, Athens will stay relatively dry, with mostly cloudy skies, contributing to the trend toward warmer temperatures. A high near 80 degrees can be expected, and a low in the lower 60s preceding into the night.

North Georgia can look forward to similar conditions, though a little less wet, than here in Athens. Currently, the temperature is in the mid 70s, with humidity sitting around 70%. Tonight, you can expect some calm winds with the low resting in the low 60s. Continuing into Friday and this weekend, the winds will begin to pick up, with gusts reaching 20 mph on Saturday. Rain is expected to return this weekend, with highs dropping into the low 60s.

As November progresses, you might be wondering where our cold temperatures are. Don't worry in the next coming week, temperatures are expected to start dropping. Get your sweaters and scarves ready as we start to approach the Thanksgiving season!

Don’t forget your umbrella and raincoat this weekend if you're going to cheer on the Dawgs in Oxford; it's going to be a wet one!
