Rainy Days Ahead

Good afternoon Athens and North Georgia!

I hope you all are having a great hump day.

We have been no stranger to rain this summer, with pop up showers and thunderstorms seeming like an almost daily occurrence at this point. For the end of this week, we are going to be looking at some more consistent rain, unfortunately.

A cold front will be pushing its way through North Georgia over tonight and tomorrow, bringing rain for the rest of the week and much into the weekend. The National Weather Service has preemptively issued a flood watch for Canton, starting at 8:00 tonight and lasting until midnight on Friday.

For our temperature outlook, we will see some slight relief from the heat courtesy of this cold front. Tonight, we will be seeing lows of 72° for Athens and 73° for Canton. Tomorrow, we will see temperatures peaking at 90° and 85° for Athens and Canton respectively.

Make sure to keep that umbrella handy for the rest of the week.
