Seasonal Temps Just In Time For Thanksgiving

Good evening Athens!
Unfortunately, not the most favorable of days as we have experienced periodic rainfall mixed with occasional sunshine all day with those climatologically high temps still lingering. Most of Western North Georgia underwent severe weather warnings throughout the morning with storms dissipating as they moved east. As we make our way into Tuesday night, we can see that overcast skies and showers have made their entrance and are here to stay for the remainder of the evening hours with a marginal risk for severe weather in most regions. However, while this weather may be dreaded now, this low pressure system we have experienced all day is actually the result of a cold front just to the west of Georgia making its passage through the southeast. Temps should remain on par with their recent stats moving into tomorrow as the first front moves through, but should continuously decrease throughout the evening hours bringing Wednesday night lows into the 30s for most parts of North Georgia. Other than that, the rain should clear out overnight with cloud cover keeping our lows in the high 50s but lots of sun can be anticipated for tomorrow.
For Thanksgiving, you can be extra thankful that it will start to feel like fall again outside! This frontal passage could not have come at a better time leaving North Georgia with highs in the mid 50s and lots of sun throughout Thursday. High pressure should persist for the rest of the week, but the only thing you should look out for are the gust winds expected to stay around 25 mph until Friday.
Moving into the weekend, rain chances will increase especially on sunday, but there is still much uncertainty with the possibility for this. Other than that, we should see these cool temperatures holding on for the near future and into the start of December next week.
Have a good week and go dawgs!
