Spring into a Stormy Summer

Good afternoon, Dawg Nation!

Last week saw an active weather pattern with scattered storms, some strong, move through our area in the afternoon and early evening hours of the day; this week looks to be a repeat. Storms aren't expected to be severe, but any storms that pop up in a given day have a chance of bringing gusty winds, lightning and heavy rain. Temperatures through the week are expected to remain in the upper 80s to low 90s, with heat indices expected to near 100. Lows will be in the lower 70s. Be sure to stay hydrated if you're outdoors and bring an umbrella just in case!

This unsettled pattern is expected to continue through Friday, the official first day of summer, or the summer solstice, our longest year of the day. At this point, Earth's axis is tilted at its closest point of the Sun. After this point, our days will get shorter and the amount of daylight will decrease. However, that doesn't mean the temperature will drop, so be wary of how hot it has yet to get!

Have a great day, and Go Dawgs!
